Wings of the Hundred Viet Dance Company is a not-for-profit cultural group formed by Vietnamese youths, most of whom have grown up in the U.S. The purpose of our organization is to preserve and spread Vietnamese history and culture through performances that portray the myths, legends, and historic events of Viet Nam.
We hope to contribute to the growth of the Vietnamese community here, in honor of the country we left behind. Although we have left the land, we have brought our community with us, a community based on shared ancestors, a shared history, and a shared language. These things are remembered and celebrated through the dances performed by Wings of the Hundred Viet.
An important part of our community engagement is to provide a summer program for youth at no charge, introducing the younger generation to Vietnamese traditions, history, and dance. Through our performances in the community, we foster a spirit of volunteerism in our members.
We also strive to develop leadership skills in our young members. Many of our junior choreographers have broadened their activities to include leading cultural dance projects at their own schools, churches, and community groups.
The group welcomes your correspondence and participation. We especially extend our invitation to Vietnamese youths who would like to join our group. Help us continue to bring the beauty of our culture to the world, and to keep our culture in your heart.
